Brian Wilkes
Meteorologist Brian Wilkes is the primary weather caster for WXIN Fox 59. Prior to WXIN Brian held the same position at WSJV-TV, the new Fox Affiliate in Elkhart, Indiana for their Six and Ten o'clock shows.
Brian graduated from Columbia College with a B.S. in Science Communication. He completed a 2 1/2 year internship at WGN-9 (Chicago), under Meteorologist, Tom Skilling. He is a member of the AMS (American Meteorological Society) and the NWA (National Weather Association.) In August of 1996, he received his Seal of Approval from the NWA.
While at WSJV, Brian produced, wrote, and hosted a documentary on the Palm Sunday tornadoes that ripped through South Bend in April of 1965. He also reported the weather on radio stations WLTA/WBYT-FM in South Bend and WTRC-AM in Elkhart, Indiana. Brian also co-hosted the Arthritis Foundation Telethon, the South Bend Ethnic Festival Parade and Elkhart County Fair.
