Cheryl Parker
Cheryl Parker anchors FOX-59 News at 10 and does health/medical reporting for the newscast. A graduate of Marquette University, Cheryl has worked for television stations in Lansing, Michigan, Grand Rapids and South Bend. She's been with the FOX-59 news team since 1994.
Cheryl is a five-time Emmy nominee, with recognition from the Associated Press and the Society for Professional Journalists. She was one of only two broadcast journalists in the nation chosen for a fellowship to the Casey Journalism Center for Children and Families at the University of Maryland in 1997.
Cheryl has also been honored by several organizations including the Community Action Center in New York City, Indiana Black Expo, the Center for Leadership Development and the United Way. Cheryl was also recognized by the Indianapolis Business Journal in its "40 under 40" publication and named one of the "Most Influential Women in Indianapolis".
An active member of the community, Cheryl serves on the boards of Family Service of Central Indiana, the National MS Society-Indiana and the Indianapolis Association of Black Journalists. She also serves on the advisory boards of the Black Coaches Association and the Indiana Fever, and is a member of the United Way's Success by 6 Leadership Council. Cheryl also enjoys being a mentor to high school and college students with an interest in broadcast journalism. She is married to Kenneth L. Parker.
