Fox 59 and CW 4 Community Fund
A Fund of the Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation

PROGRAM GUIDELINES

Grants are made from the Fox 59/CW 4 Community Fund in response to applications from 501C(3) organizations primarily in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The Fox 59/CW 4 Community Fund, a fund of the Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation, is committed to programs and activities that foster Positive Youth Development.

The Community Fund defines Positive Youth Development as a process which prepares young people, ages thirteen through eighteen, to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood through a coordinated, progressive series of activities and experiences which help them to become socially, morally, emotionally, physically, and cognitively competent. A youth development approach allows organizations, programs, and activities to focus on providing opportunities that develop and enhance youths' capacities and strengths, in contrast to deficit-based models, which focus solely on fixing a problem or preventing a type of behavior.

From time to time, the Fox 59/CW 4 Community Fund may consider grants outside of this specific area, at its discretion.

Geographic area served: The Fox 59/CW 4 Community Fund serves the greater Indianapolis area including Marion County, Johnson County, Morgan County, Hendricks County, Boone County, Hamilton County, Southern Madison County, Hancock County, and Shelby County. Statewide programs are not eligible for Community Fund grants, unless a grant proposal is structured to benefit residents of the designated service area only.

Limitations: Grants are not made to government entities, foundations or other re-granting organizations, or for capital fund drives.

Evaluation Procedures: Subsequent to receipt of your grant application, you may be asked to respond to telephone inquiries for additional information and you may receive a site visit. Personnel associated with the Fox 59/CW 4 Community Fund or the McCormick Tribune Foundation may make visits/inquiries. Prompt response to these inquiries and requests will help facilitate the handling of your grant request.
